About Denny Chimes

Dedicated on May 27, 1929, Denny Chimes was built in honor of University president George H. Denny and stands at the heart of the Quad at The University of Alabama. The tower houses a 25-bell carillon that marks time, plays the alma mater at noon, and serves as both a musical instrument and a lasting symbol of campus tradition.
